The Colorado Avalanche, nicknamed the Avs, are a professional ice hockey team based in Denver, Colorado. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Western Conference's Central Division. The Avalanche were founded in 1995 as the Quebec Nordiques, and relocated to Denver in 1996. They have won the Stanley Cup three times, in 1996, 2001, and 2022.

The Jets took an early lead in the game, scoring two goals in the first period. The Avalanche came back to tie the game in the second period, but the Jets scored three more goals in the third period to take a commanding lead. The Avalanche managed to score one more goal in the third period, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Jets' lead.
