Emmy Nominations 2024: Shogun Leads the Pack

A Record-Breaking Morning for FX

The 76th annual Emmy Awards nominations were announced Wednesday morning, and FX came out on top with a record-breaking 93 nominations. The network's success was largely due to the critically acclaimed comedy-drama "What We Do in the Shadows," which earned 21 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series.

A Comedy Tear

The Hulu comedy "Only Murders in the Building" also had a strong showing, earning 21 nominations. The series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez as a trio of true-crime podcasters who investigate a murder in their Upper West Side apartment building.

Bear-y Good News

Another comedy that made waves was "The Bear," which earned 14 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The series stars Jeremy Allen White as a young chef who returns to his family's Chicago sandwich shop after the death of his brother.

Shōgun's Sweep

But the biggest winner of the morning was "Shōgun," which leads the pack with 24 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. The historical epic tells the story of a Portuguese navigator who becomes a samurai in 16th-century Japan.

The Ceremony

The 76th Emmy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on September TBD. The ceremony will be broadcast live on NBC and streamed on Peacock.
